£100 Free shares!

Anyone in the UK who has not already opened a Stocks and Shares ISA must be crazy! Lol :-)

Trading 212 offer a free account (no charges except a very small Foreign Exchange rate charge if you buy non-GBP shares). You can buy fractional shares (so you can buy shares even if you only have £5 a month to invest) and because the ISA is flexible, you can take out all your money from the ISA (tax free) at any time and as long as you put it back in before then end of the tax year (April 5th 2026), anything you put back in is still tax free. You don't need to tell the tax man about your ISA or any profit you make - it is all tax free!

You can deposit up to £20,000 of new money each year into an ISA (£20K max per person per year). Within 5 years you could build it up to £100K. Once you have £100K in a Stocks and Shares ISA account, you should become a £millionaire within 30 years even if you don't invest another penny into it! 

Another way to become a millionaire is to invest £620 a month (£20 a day) for 30 years.

These calculations assumes an 8% annual gain for 30 years, however it is not unusual for the stock market to gain more than 8%. 

• The MSCI World Core Index ETF SWDA has averaged 17%/yr over the last 5 years. 

At a rate of 15% you would only need to invest £150 a month for 30 years to become a £millionaire! So if you can save £5 a day for 30 years and invest in SWDA you will not regret it!

I opened a new Trading 212 ISA in April 2025 and put in £20K - after 5 months it is now worth £23.3K.

My rate of return may go up or down of course, so I cannot guarantee I will have the same performance in following years. You must be prepared for the account to drop by 20% in some years but rise by 35% in others. Gradually however, you will become rich. That is how pension companies do it (but they charge you a lot more for their services).
