Rolls Royce SMRs to be built in Wylfa Anglesey - not USA SMRs!

Although RR was the UK's preferred bidder, we had promised President Trump that the UK would invest in proven USA SMRs. It appears Mr Trump is pretty upset about it!

There was no firm contract with RR, but it seems we are now going to build the first three RR SMRs at Wylfa in Anglesey. I still cannot find any evidence of a signed contract to build these three RR SMRs in the media however.

RR share price has gone down since mid-September 2025 but on news of a signed contract with RR (rather than just preferred bidder status), the share price may get a further boost. The SMRs may not be built until 2032/33 so we have a while to wait before we know if the promise of cheap, mass produced SMRs are the way to go and if RR's technology is world beating.
