What shares am I buying next week?

First, I will share that I have crystallised profit and sold a major portion of SOFI. I have been buying more SOFI over the last few weeks, so I sold £5000 for a profit of £421 made in just 3 weeks. Due to the short timescale the Fx hit was only £7. I still have some SOFI shares that I bought for £1000 and they are currently valued at £1516, so that is a 50% unrealised gain so far.

The good news is that the S&P 100 is up 5% this week. I would think it is a good time to buy it or the NASDAQ 100 or US Tech (XLKQ or IITU or IUCM) while the £ has strong buying power.

What have I bought this month (July 3rd - 18th 2025)?

This last few weeks I have bought (ooh - shiny...):

Monolithic Power Systems
Invesco FTSE RAFI UK 100 (Dist)
Invesco S&P 500
Coinbase
Netflix
HIMS
Crowdstrike
Nvidia
ARK Artificial Intelligence and Robotics
AMD
Hive
Vaneck Crypto and Blockchain
Rolls Royce

and some others which are each less than £100 each because I like to keep some 'prospects' on my radar by buying them in small amounts. I prefer this instead of using watch lists on T212.

I also bought the x3 NASDAQ leveraged ETF QQQ3 which is currently showing a 7% gain.

Current holdings

These are my current top holdings in my T212 ISA and Invest accounts. As I have other accounts which hold longer term ETFs, so these two accounts on T212 are mainly used for experimental shorter term investing/trading.

The ISA account was opened in early April 2025 with a 100% invested 20K deposit and is currently valued at £22,640 (IRR 14%).

The Invest account was started in February 2024 with £1k and has been added into over the months with a large deposit of £27k going in at just the end of June 2025. So Net Deposits total 60K and it is currently valued at £64k (IRR 22%) with £19k still in cash.

What am I looking to buy next week?

I still have some cash (£19k) to invest. The shares I am looking at for next week are:

IJPE acc. (or DXPE dist.) Hedged Japan - Toyota have a new solid state EV battery for 2027 - longer term hold

PSRU - FTSE RAFI 100 - more investment in UK away from USA - maybe hold for 6 months then review?

Tech ETFs - these are quite volatile at the moment because of the 'now it's on - now it's off' attitude by Trump to restrictions on exports of chips to China and tariffs. I will look at buying more XLKQ if it continues to dip again or the NASDAQ 100 EQGB.

Banks and Finance - I have previously invested in the Euro finance sector using the BNKE ETF. After cashing in my gains for a healthy £540 gain in 3 months (£5.7k invested) even though BNKE has continued to rise by a a few percent since I sold. However, I see the US Finance sector making most gains in H2 of 2025 due to deregulation, adoption of crypto and the increasing amount of debt that will occur in US society as unemployment rises and debt and borrowing increases. I will look at both Mastercard and Visa, and the ETF IUFS which has gained 25% in the last year.

Gold - I believe gold has further to go, especially if some crypto starts to collapse. I usually  invest in physical gold ETF SGLN which has gained over 30% in one year but it has been pretty static over the last 3 months.

I also want to reduce the total number of holdings in my Invest GIA account and increase the EQGB, HMWS and PSRU holdings in that account because I want to move the more volatile stocks into the ISA and reduce the trading that I do within my Invest GIA account in order to keep the CGT calculations easier.
