Here are a few tools with instructions.
Phils Computer Lab DOS benchmark tools - download the zip file and extract the contents to a new folder named \DOSBENCH on the large NTFS Partition 1 of your E2B USB drive. Then legacy boot to the E2B DOS menu and select the 'FreeDIS (from a floppy image)' option. This boots to FreeDOS - select the first 'with NTFS support' option. Now type CD \DOSBENCH to change to the DOSBENCH folder and type DOSBENCH to run the menu.
Download the ISO file and copy it to either the \_ISO\DOS folder or the a_ISO\UTILITIES folder.
HWINFO - extract files to a new \HWINFO folder. Boot to E2B DOS menu and boot to FreeDOS floppy, choose default NTFS option, type CD \HWINFO and then either HWINFO or HWINFO16 to run the info/benchmark menu.
PCCONFIG - run in a similar way to HWINFO. Type CONFIG to run it from DOS. You may be able to use your mouse to drive the menu system.
Ultimate Boot CD - download the ISO (800MB) and add it to the \_ISO\UTILITIES folder. There are many utilities in this ISO.
E2B can boot to floppy image files (.ima and .img) as well as ISO files. You can change the file extension if required. E2B can load images into memory, or it can emulate a file as a read/write device (so changes to the image will be persistent). Here are a few file extension examples:
xxx.imghd - load image as hard disk if contiguous file, hd0 will be mapped as the image (not USB drive)
xxx.imgmemhd - Swaps over hd0 with hd1 and maps the file as hd0 in memory using –mem
xxx.imarw - loads image as writable floppy - changes will be persistent
.isoDOS – use for DOS-emulation bootable ISOs which normally load CD drivers to access the CD, all CD contents will be found on the B: FAT32 volume once booted to DOS. Note: DOS 6 cannot access the FAT32 B: volume – use DOS 7 or later.
.isoDOS01 – as .isoDOS but swaps over the USB boot drive with the internal hard disk so that the internal HDD is drive 0 – use for Win98 Install ISOs, etc. – see also .imgfdhd01.
For more details of these and other special file extensions see here.
Note: you can also use a file suffix using _. instead of a file extension - e.g. xxx_.imgfdhd01.img will be treated the same as xxx.imgfhhd01.
Games
You can also run many DOS-based games from E2B (though you will need a retro sound card if you want audio). Details can be found in my E2B eBook #1 if you want more info.
Many games can be found here. Many can be run in the same way (extract contents to a folder and then boot to the FreeDOS floppy image in E2B).
